Accessibility

The importance of a public space accessible to everyone, increases as our societies age. Mobycon believes in the ‘Design4all principle’. When designing public spaces, our team always takes the needs of the physically disabled and the visually impaired into account. We have extensive experience in implementing the guidelines for this area, at public transport stops for example.

In so-called shared space areas however, it is often quite difficult to implement guidelines for accessibility. Shared space design requires tailor-made solutions. We are convinced that the needs of the physically disabled and the visually impaired can and should be taken into account, and that strong and creative designs can guarantee their safety.  The elements we use to realise this include building-lines, different choices of pavement material, or street gutters. We integrate the design4all principle into all of our public space projects through this approach.
