“I am driven to streamline processes and translate information into concrete advice.”
Erik collects and analyzes data that enables governments to make evidence-based plans for the future. He has more than 20 years experience working with data and geographic information systems (GIS) in creating transportation and traffic studies. Erik’s projects are related to planning for the car, bicycle and demand responsive transportation.
In The Netherlands, Erik has worked extensively for governments of all sizes, managing large-scale studies for the Dutch Ministry of Transportation, as well as studies of all sizes for regional and local governments. He worked on the implementation of the Road Protection Score (RPS) project, which involved mapping all the highways in the Netherlands and rating their safety in stars. This was an international project commissioned by the Royal Dutch Touring Club (ANWB) and the European Road Assessment Programme (EuroRAP). Erik recently worked on a bicycle planning project in Canada that involved mapping traffic flows to determine where bicycle facilities should be built.
As a consultant specializing in data analysis, Erik manages fieldwork and data collection and works in modeling programs. He is adept at finding the structure in big data sets that eludes others. As a result of his skill and accuracy, Erik is able to hand clients the information they need to make intelligent plans and allocate space and resources efficiently.
